Although we are approaching fall, the Southern heat is still here and so is the hot, hot sun! With shade a commodity that not every garden has, it can be worth it to plant full sun flowers that cannot only survive in the hot conditions, but thrive in them. We did some research and found some of the most colorful, beautiful flowers that will add even more to your landscape.
Yellow Alyssum is a full sun flower. It is a great plant to use as a ground cover and is very popular in rock gardens. These flowers are beautiful perennials that thrive in the heat of the sun and are the perfect addition to any summer garden.
Another fantastic full sun option for your garden is Lamb’s Ear. This unique plant showcases silvery foliage that will bring a unique aspect to your summer garden. It is an extremely low maintenance perennial that is drought-tolerant and deer resistant! It is the perfect plant if you are looking for a garden filler that can handle all conditions without a lot of work.
Finally, the Montauk Daisy is a sun-loving flower we like. This flower is fantastic for late-summer color. It has a similar look to black-eyed susan; however, it is a white flower that brings simplicity while holding onto summer blooms. This flower can delay its blooms until the fall, meaning that your garden can keep color and flowers until the first frost.
