Building a business takes time and energy. As a business owner you know how important it is to build a personal brand that is represented in the best light possible. Representing your brand doesn’t stop when you exit your building; it extends all the way until your client cannot see your business anymore. That means that the neighborhood you are located in and your commercial landscaping can make a big difference. Making sure that your commercial landscaping is bright, beautiful, and neat can make the difference between a client stopping in and one who decides to just drive by.
There is much research evidence that shows that businesses who landscape the areas around their buildings see increased benefits. In fact, just by adding trees to your commercial landscaping can make a world of difference. In a study conducted by the University of Washington’s School of Environmental and Forest Sciences, it was found that shoppers will travel a longer distance, spend more time and more money at businesses that have a high-quality tree canopy.
In the same research study it was found that employee satisfaction is correlated with the amount of commercial landscaping a business invests in. It was found that employees who are able to view neatly landscaped nature from their desks or are able to be surrounded by a natural landscape when they walk outside are less frustrated with their job tasks throughout the day, exercise more patience and display an overall greater enthusiasm for their job. It was also shown that trees are an excellent buffer against outside noises, such as traffic or construction, which can distract both your employees and your customers.
